The Imperial Presidency

We have not consented to be governed by sovereign decree. We did not vote to eliminate the system of checks and balances that characterized the US government for more than two centuries. So how did this happen? American Imperialism had been spreading across the globe since World War II, but not until 9/11 did the presidency assume the leading role, negating the power of the legislative and judicial branches of government in the process.
After 9/11, the Oval Office, powered by the 'surveillance state' wrestled control from congress and the judicial branch of government and controlled foreign policy by settting the global agenda as it is today. The so called terrorist attack was used to justify retalliation against Afghanistan and the Taliban and to open the door for global conquest. But in order to attack Iraq, George W. Bush needed to invoke the War Powers Act of 1973 and claim to have proof that Iraq had Weapons of Mass Destruction.
The CIA, NSA, FBI and sometimes even the IRS were all inlisted in the coup. The Cold War was near death because the threat of total neuclear holocost was wearing thin as the Soviet Union was disintegrating, so terrorism had to be demonstrated as a credible threat. It took the spectacular destruction of the World Trade Center towers and the murder of 2,996 Americans. Too many leads have never been investigated to absolve the Bush administration of culpability. Too many agents were aware of the 'airplane threat.' Too many first responders reports of thermite and multiple explosions have been ignored. The mainstream narrative quietly hushed everything up just like they just forgot about the WMD's in Iraq.
All of these events led to the dilemma we face today. A president who can pretty much dictate policy with the stroke of the pen. This is not how our government is supposed to work and none of our representatives should be going along with it. In order to fix this we need to declassify everything. They say it's need to know. Well, the American people need to know. This isn't just about Trump. The whole Imperial Presidency must be vetted going at least as far back as George W. and Donald Rumsfeld. People in the other branches of government and the mainstream media need to be investigated as well. This is treasonous, and the right people in the CIA are talking. People need to listen.
